MUNICH, April 17, 2021. eeMobility, a specialist in charging solutions for electrified vehicle fleets, and ParkHere, a provider of parking optimization solutions and parking management systems for large enterprises, are collaborating to offer ParkHere users an integrated feature for finding and reserving a company parking space with a charging station. Drivers of electric vehicles—whether fully electric or plug-in hybrids—will enjoy unparalleled convenience and, in the future, will be able to use the ParkHere app to easily reserve a parking space with a charging station and charge their vehicles there intelligently.
The first joint project for a major telecommunications provider in Munich is already in the works and will be completed in May of this year. More than ten additional projects with shared customers are planned for 2021.
Users benefit from the synergies and integration between ParkHere and eeMobility without having to use multiple apps. Reserving a parking space for a specific period, passing through the barrier, smart charging at the parking space, and user-specific billing are all handled through a single ParkHere app. Behind the scenes, both companies have invested resources to connect the functionalities of smart parking and charging via interfaces. Smart parking management and efficient charging thus merge into an optimal and easy-to-use solution.
The ParkHere solution, which is already in use at several large companies and commercial properties, offers automatic license plate recognition with QR code scanning capabilities, as well as a flexible reservation system that simplifies the management of authorized parkers. eeMobility brings many years of expertise in charging infrastructure and provides calibration-compliant charging stations within the ParkHere solution.
Users of the system can reliably access a parking space reserved for them—including an available charging station—and conveniently charge their electric vehicle there. This offers not only many advantages to the user but also to the operator through optimal management of parking spaces and the charging infrastructure: With the help of the ParkHere solution, for example, reservations for various groups, access management for external guests, management of illegal parking, utilization optimization, and simple price adjustments per kilowatt-hour charged can be managed.
Felix Harteneck, founder and CEO of ParkHere GmbH, comments on the partnership: “Through our partnership with eeMobility, we are combining the expertise of both technology providers and laying the groundwork for optimal collaboration as the foundation for sustainable and innovative customer solutions. We see significant shared opportunities here, particularly in the meaningful integration of parking and charging—two key components of sustainable and future-proof mobility.”
Günter Fuhrmann, CEO of eeMobility, adds: “Registrations of fully electric cars and plug-in hybrids have seen a tremendous increase over the past two years. A look at the KBA statistics for 2020 shows growth rates of over 200 percent and around 340 percent for plug-in hybrids—despite the economic downturn caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. With nearly 400,000 new electric vehicles registered in 2020, the charging infrastructure must now keep pace. For companies, this also presents a good opportunity to differentiate themselves in talent acquisition. Top performers are increasingly seeking an electric car or a plug-in hybrid. Thanks to comprehensive parking and charging solutions, electric driving is taking user-friendliness in company cars to a whole new level.”
